Obviously by design, people are pushed into religion. Not being religious is not a thing that is well accepted in the U.S. It has not a thing to do with actually believing, but not claiming religion is viewed upon as being satanic. The mindset is usually “In case the Bible is really true, I rather not be around people like that”.
Being religious is the socially safe way to play it. You can hang out with friends on Sundays and at the same time you reassure each others that once dead, you will continue this in heaven. But on the other hand, there is quite a lot that’s wrong with churches today, but nobody wants to openly question that as the group think mindset associated with the congregation leaves few with courage to actually openly discuss what’s on their mind. Even when the majority of the congregation happens to be of the same mindset.
It’s the same seeds politics plant. You want to be a good Republican, so your opinions remain censored. Nobody needs to do it for you as you yourself are the gatekeeper of your own thoughts. Openly discussing what goes against the leadership imposed doctrine gets dismissed as hateful, evil and accusations of being a spy for the “other side”.
What we are dealing with is a religious addiction and breaking it can be “crushmental” to the mindsets of those who don’t join a church in search but rather a need for belonging.
Whenever historically there was a setting of paganism and non-association with anything religiously controlled, the wrath of the governments have come down and wound up being destructive against their lifestyles.

Ask yourself also why historically speaking there has been a drive to push people into religion. The witch hunts, the persecution of the non religious world wide. Appears to me that indeed those not religiously affiliated are hard to control and their ability to look into facts rather than be medicated into thinking that “god’s will is being done regardless” may be viewed as a threat by some.
Historically speaking no king was ever able to rule without the priesthood being behind him. Atheists, free thinkers and independent teachers were always labeled as terrorists, enemies of the state and satanists in order to eliminate any form of potential opposition.
Jordan Maxwell from Project Avalon is another Freemason?
So what happened to the pagan tribes in East Timor? A statue of the virgin Mary was “crying tears of blood” a few years later, the entire island converted to Roman Catholicism, and the inhabitants have been left alone since.
